"Mileage Reinstatement Service" for Unused Awards

After application for the award has been completed*1 the mileage used for the award can only be reinstated for totally unused award by paying the applicable fee. All reinstated mileage must be returned to the JMB account from which it was redeemed.

  • *1 Required mileage will be deducted at the time of award application.
  • *2 Mileage cannot be reinstated for Japan domestic flight awards after the first departure date has already passed.
  • *3 Hotel awards cannot be refunded less than 14 days before the intended date of stay.
  • *4 Mileage cannot be returned if it is expired at the time of the reinstatement request.
  • One handling fee will be charged for each award.
  • We will refund the mileage after receiving the unused award.
  • The award should be within its validity when the refund service is applied for.
  • We cannot refund charges (such as handling fees, expedite or same-day handling charges) and delivery fees.
  • Members are responsible for the mailing costs of documents sent to the JAL Group office of your membership registration.
